Door County Humane Society is a not-for-profit organization which exists almost entirely on private donations from members of our community. In fact, only 3-4% of our funding comes from public sources. This is a demanding 24/7, 365 day a year operation and we work hard to make every animal comfortable and happy during their stay with us. We have a beautiful facility with very comfortable accommodations for the animals. With the assistance of local veterinarians, we provide medical care for these orphaned animals when needed. This becomes a very expensive endeavor, but our reward comes when we assist in the adoption of a pet to a member of our community. Our work is very important and we could not do it without the support of our volunteers and donors. Please help us if you can!

Simple Ways to Help
Viewing our wishlist of items we most need and dropping them off at the Shelter can make a huge difference to us; we receive donations from companies when we turn in collections of the following items: Aluminum cans (no tin cans please,) receipts from Econofoods, old cell phones. Please keep us in mind when discarding these items! Also, please make us your charity of choice at Pick n Save.

Volunteer
We are currently recruiting volunteers in a variety of areas including adoption specialists, kennel cleaning, fundraising, summer events, and mailings.
